Getting here and around
Every way into the city, and how people move once they are in it.
By air
- Dumaguete–Sibulan Airport, airport code DGT, sits just north of the city.
- Tricycles and vans wait at arrivals.
- Between October and November, keep a spare day for a flight out through Cebu or Manila.
By sea
- Fast craft and RoRo ferries run to and from Cebu, Siquijor, Bohol and Mindanao.
- Dumaguete is the usual jumping-off point for Siquijor and for Apo Island diving.
By road
- Coastal bus lines run north and south along Negros.
- One route crosses the mountains to Bacolod.
Once you are here
- Tricycles
- A motorbike with a sidecar, the city taxi of Dumaguete. Flag one down anywhere in the city.
- Jeepneys
- Fixed routes out to the neighbouring towns.
- A bicycle
- ₱100 an hour or ₱600 a day, collected in Bagacay — see Bike rental.
Fares and timetables
dumaguete.uk names every route and mode and lists 58 verified transport places, but it does not publish fares or departure times, because they change. The forum is where residents confirm them.
