What a month costs
Add a rent band to the three bills that always arrive. These are the figures dumaguete.uk publishes; nothing here is estimated.
Rent plus the three bills
| If you rent | Rent (₱) | Bills (₱) | Month (₱) | Month (~€) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A room in a shared house | 3,000–6,000 | 3,200–9,600 | 6,200–15,600 | 88–220 |
| A studio with aircon | 6,000–12,000 | 3,200–9,600 | 9,200–21,600 | 130–305 |
| A one-bedroom apartment | 8,000–18,000 | 3,200–9,600 | 11,200–27,600 | 158–390 |
| A two- or three-bedroom house | 15,000–40,000 | 3,200–9,600 | 18,200–49,600 | 257–700 |
The bills column is electricity (₱1,500–₱6,000), water (₱200–₱600) and internet (₱1,500–₱3,000) added together. The low end assumes little aircon; the high end assumes a lot of it.
What you pay once, at the start
- Two months' deposit plus one month in advance — negotiable, especially for foreigners.
- On a ₱10,000 apartment that is ₱30,000 (~€424) before you have a key.
- A bicycle instead of a motorbike: ₱6,900 to buy (~€97), or ₱3,500 a week to rent (~€49).
What is not a published figure
Food and local transport are not published as budgets, and this site will not invent them. What exists instead is better: 305 verified places to eat and 58 transport places in the directory, and a forum where residents give today's prices.
Peso amounts are the real prices. Euro amounts are a guide, converted at ₱70.8 = €1 on 16 October 2026.
